Available Roles for the State Elections

1. Issuing Officer

Be at the heart of the electoral process! As an Issuing Officer, you’ll:

  • Issue ballot papers to voters listed on the electoral roll.
  • Rotate as a ballot box guard or queue controller.
  • Assist with counting the votes after 6 PM.

🕒 Time: 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM
💼 Level: 1.1


2. Student Electoral Officer

Perfect for Year 11 or 12 students, this role allows you to support polling activities under supervision.

📅 Date: 8th March (weekend)
🕒 Time: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
💼 Level: 1.1


3. Voter Information Officer

Help create a seamless voting experience by assisting electors from culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) or Indigenous backgrounds.

📅 Date: 24th February – 8th March (weekday and weekend work)
🕒 Time:

  • 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (24th February – 7th March)
  • 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM (8th March)
    💼 Level: 1.1

4. General Assistant

From setting up polling places to supporting the vote count, this role is integral to election operations.

📅 Date: 7th March – 8th March (Friday and Saturday)
🕒 Time:

  • 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM (7th March)
  • 5:30 PM – completion (8th March)
    💼 Level: 1.1

5. Ballot Box Guard

Ensure accuracy in the voting process by safeguarding ballot boxes and assisting with vote counting.

6. Queue Controller

Keep the voting process smooth by managing queues and assisting electors.
