JOB DESCRIPTION
Live your dream job as a Wetland Planting and Maintenance Team Leader with the Native Space Team based in North and West of Melbourne.
The Wetland Planting and Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for the successful delivery of each assigned maintenance project by ensuring they are delivered to budget, time and brief.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Maintain newly developed streetscapes, parks & existing housing estates
- Use of equipment such as Ride on mowing, Brush cutting, weed control & eradication, tree & garden bed maintenance
- Following & understanding maintenance schedules
- Ad hoc maintenance & landscape duties
- Following Native Space OH&S procedures
- Monitoring performance of work crew and subcontractors against estimates
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Previous team leading/supervisor experience
- Demonstrated experience in identification of plant species
- Excellent knowledge of Victorian Indigenous, primarily basalt plains, Vegetation
- Knowledge of and / or experience in establishing and maintaining successful wetland environments
- Ability to treat and rectify plant pests and diseases to ensure healthy growth and environment is maintained
- Ability to read and comprehend/understand landscape planting plans
- Someone willing to exceed the expectations of the client & take pride in your completed works
- Someone with a fantastic work ethic, an ability to work well with & lead their team
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Certificate III in Parks and Gardens, Landscape or similar discipline, nursery experience
- Driver’s licence and WHS White Card
- Hold a current ACUP
- Experience in working with authorities, such as local council, community industry stakeholders & subcontractors
- Excellent client relationship management & Demonstrated rapport with subcontractors
